When you think of Long Beach, you might picture a busy harbor, the Queen Mary, polluted water, and Snoop Dogg. You probably don’t picture this:

Hat Yao, also known as “Long Beach,” is an idyllic beach found on the island of Ko Phi Phi, off of the west coast of the Thai mainland. This gorgeous stretch of white sand and calm blue waters is a perfect vacation spot and a definite must-see if you ever make it to Ko Phi Phi.
Other highlights of the island include the lookout point, where you get the most amazing view of the island and a picture perfect sunset. It’s definitely worth the hike!
For about $12, you can book a day trip to the neighboring island of Ko Phi Phi Ley, which is famous for Maya Bay, where the movie “The Beach” was filmed. These day trips also include stops for snorkeling and visiting other wildlife around the island.
